SHAUN PAGA
DIRECTOR OF RUGBY
BOARD MEMBER
Shaun grew up in New Zealand and Menlo Park, he wrestled and played football at M-A for the legendary Coach Parks, where he earned 1st team All-State honors in football at linebacker and is in the M-A Hall of Fame. Shaun played football and rugby at Cal winning 5 national championships as an All-American and team captain in 2001. Shaun played for the USA National Team the Eagles from 1998-2004, including in the 1999 Rugby World Cup, and locally for club powerhouse SFGG, where he is a member of their Hall of Fame.

JOHN BRIGGS

Like Shaun, John wrestled and played football at M-A for Coach Parks. Unlike Shaun, John wasn't very good at it. Because of this, John focuses on the administrative side of the club. In addition to his role as President, John is also heading up M-A Rugby's fundraising efforts. John was on the founding team at Yahoo!, where he was a General Manager. He was previously the President of Menlo-Atherton's Athletic Boosters, which raises funds for all 44 of M-A's sports teams.

President of the Rich May Foundation. Chair, USA Rugby Disciplinary Committee, Former NorCal President. Frank is responsible for organizing college Rugby tournaments, summer camps for underprivileged youths, and everything in between.

KATRINA LOGAN
GIRLS HEAD COACH
BOARD MEMBER
Katrina played for Stanford University Women's Rugby, the U-23 Pacific Coast Grizzlies and the U-23 National Team. After graduating from Stanford, she played for the Bay Area Shehawks, the Berkeley All Blues, and the Pacific Coast Grizzlies Senior 15s & 7s select sides. Katrina has served as an assistant coach for Stanford Women's Rugby team since 2008 and was head coach of the Berkeley All Blues for two seasons starting in 2015. When not on the pitch, Katrina is the Director of the Economic Advancement Program at Community Legal Services in East Palo Alto.

GREG SMITH
TREASURER, COACH
BOARD MEMBER
Smitty’s playing career spanned 33 years as a flanker for a number of teams including Dartmouth College, the BATS of San Francisco and the New York Athletic Club. Smitty started coaching youth rugby for the Razorbacks in 2011. His previous coaching experience includes serving as Forwards Coach at Dartmouth where he helped lead the men’s team to two National Collegiate Rugby final four appearances. When not out on the pitch, Smitty is the VP of Finance at Mach49.

TASI MO’UNGA
ASSISTANT COACH
Tasi Mo’unga, Assistant Coach - Tasi played for the US National Rugby team from 1998-2007 including the 1999 and 2007 Rugby World Cup. Tasi also coached the EPA Razorbacks to a national championship in 2015.

CHRIS KRON
ASSISTANT COACH
Chris started playing rugby senior year of high school for the Los Gatos RFC. He played college rugby for University of Arizona and was a two-time All-American and named the school’s Student Athlete of the Year in 2000.
Chris was also a member of the USA 7s team and played on the World Rugby Sevens Circuit. After college, he played club rugby for the San Jose Seahawks. He started coaching in 2004 with various roles at San Jose Seahawks, Stanford University, Santa Clara University, and University of Arizona.

VILIAMI “PILA" TAI
BOYS JV HEAD COACH
Pila has over 25 years of experience playing rugby, from his start with Tupou College in Tonga through 20 years at the Men's Club level in the California Bay Area.
Pila has been part of three national champion teams: San Mateo, Razorbacks, and Mission, where Pila earned the MVP title in the national championship match. He also played for the All-Star sevens rugby team in 2006 and captained the Razorbacks in 2009—a year in which they were undefeated, as chronicled in the book Crossing Over 101.

KOLO UHILA
COMMUNITY OUTREACH, COACH
In addition to overseeing our Community Outreach Program, Kolo is also Co-Head Coach & Co-Offensive Coordinator for the M-A freshman football team.

JOANNE LOFTHOUSE
REGISTRAR, SOCIAL MEDIA/WEBMASTER
Jo grew up in the north of England. She grew up in a rugby family watching her father and brother play. Jo was VP of Expert Services at Siebel Systems before hanging up her computer to become a full-time "Mum" to 2 boys. She is currently also the webmaster for M-A's PTA.
